In the "interesting candy release" world of Japan... there are many foriegn brands that release for Japan only flavors. One of the metro bloggers wrote about Wine Flavored KitKat Here Haven't tried these myself yet. I will give an update if I find them somewhere. One of the other strange aspects is that even when they release and promote special flavors here they keep the mistique by making the supply small and trying to build up demand.

The craziest thing about all these gross-sounding limited-edition snacks is that they're usually REALLY GOOD.
Having said that, I've still not tried the sakura-flavoured (ergo, cherry-blossom flavoured) Kit Kats that are being advertised now.
