It's important to take time to do something I love
to create to share and to refuel.
I am going to see my way through
all of this chaos and confusion.
One small moment at a time.
Sketching out a plan, filling in the details.
Learning and growing on the way.

Crystal but Not Yet Clear

The view is not especially clear
but I can see some things I like.
It is going to be hard to line it up, and make it work
But I feel like it would be worth it.
Finally to make things make sense
and make them sustainable.

Pushing Piles of Paper

Instead of pushing piles of paper around,
and carrying them from work to home to work again.
Today, thankfully, I have a cheerful helper.
Sorted, stashing, and smiling her way
through my mess!
The smiling is the BEST part!

Gambatte

Gambatte =
Keep a stiff upper lip.
What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger.
Soldier on.
If at first you don't succeed, try try again.
Get back on the horse.
And so it goes.

Uphill, both ways...

I am trying, honestly.
But it needs to get a wee bit easier.

Strange is in the eye of the beholder

Some days I don't event notice
Some days life just looks a little strange
where ever I gaze.
Something is just a bit odd about
my life here.
Even in the best of times.
Which this certainly is not.

Enough of this sadness and fighting.
Instead we can have big, sweet, sticky
times together again.

It's All Relative

There are tough jobs
and trying days
and stress.
But then there is what this guy
has to deal with everyday.
Important to
keep perspective.

Wishing it were so...

Wishing that all the parts
of my work
could be as fun as planning

other people.

My Demons. 
The repeat factor of dealing with the same stresses
over and over again.
The same things I am not good at.
Keep coming back to bite me in the butt.
Time to break the chain.

It is all a matter of

Walking a tightrope wire of
choices and ideas.
What comes first?
What comes last? 
And where do all the in between roads go?

Roughness

January was a month of rough
and craggy edges. Bumps and ugly wounds
But learning - Oh! the learning.

Winding and Climbing

Sometimes the upward climb seems endless and
the destination becomes obscured in the effort.
I am waiting for my second (third, fourth, fifth) wind.
Trying to find my inner reserve to keep climbing.
And hope it makes sense somewhere up there.

roll over

Sometimes what i WANT to do is roll over and play dead
but when i resist the urge, more often than not,
good things happen.
Yes, we are too busy,
and yes we are not perfect,
and yes we can do better BUT
we still kick ass- and we are getting it done.
Just maybe not the way we imagined.
Upside down is also ok.

big city / big lists

I'm home again. Back to the big city.
Big plans, and a godizilla sized work load.
My to do list could wrap around Tokyo.
(Perhaps more than once.)
And Fall is here.
Busy busy time of year.
Nose - meet - grindstone.

Autumn colored kitties,
and backyard breaks
cleaning and clearing
endings and beginnings
uptime and downtime
plans and schemes
cool mornings
sunny afternoons
and restful nights
much work 
we are getting it done.

not so footloose and fancy free

Leaving home is hard, being away is hard.
I love to travel- but I hate when things go wrong while I am away.
Flooding, injury, missed opportunity.
It makes it difficult.
Hope it all stays together for another 12 days.
Too.Much.Stress.

A Wee Bit Weary

After such a long hot summer
we could all use a little rest.
Alas it is not time yet- still more to do.
as they say here in Japan,
"issho ni gambarimasho"
