Rediscovering

A new job,

so many surprising things. 

Rediscovering myself, 

finding out that there is still 

so much to celebrate 

so many adventures to be had. 

It really is unlocking a new Odyssey

Makes all the difference
in happy and sad times
I wish I could have
been there this weekend
to say goodbye and
to just love them all in person.

I am so grateful
so many were there
to make it easier.

Tease

Oh new life,

You are teasing me with

So many possibilities 

Now is the time to think 

Carefully and not rush ahead

In a coffee induced haze 

Hard to keep my focus.

I'm not sure if it's a function of age

Or a reflection of the last few difficult years

But I find myself looking back a lot

Seemingly simpler times

More time for self, friends, family, reflection.

I think in order to move things forward, I'm going to need to set my sights more firmly in the future

Of course that doesn't mean any change to my retro style

Just need to put aside retro thinking

Old stories old friends

Sometimes the old stories

Like old friends 

Are the best, the most comfortable

The most relaxing

To come home to. 

Swinging

Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith.

Sometimes you have to grab a vine and swing from tree to tree.

Sometimes the only way from here to there is by doing something unexpected.

Time to hang on and see where we go to next. 

Hot Dog

Summer has come slamming back into us.
The heat is a living thing. We want to go out and play but don't last long.
And usually end up flat out afterwards.
But we keep trying anyway- because, what are summers for if not for getting hot while playing hard.

It will seem silly to many people I think, But the wisest thing I did this year was get a dog. Archie is a joy. He makes me laugh, he loves my husband and I without question, he reduces my stress by 140% I think he has saved me this year. Starting a new business is impossibly hard in the best of times and this has certainly NOT been the best of times. I was worried I was crazy adding a dog into the mix. But it turns out it was one of the best decisions I made in the last two years. It has not always been easy, and he does drive me crazy at least once a day. BUT what a great little spirit and what a wonderful addition to our little family.
